My tribe

Hey big poppa is home let the adventures begin ....This is my tribe, these are my people I can never express into words how much joy they bring me I hope one day they know how much I love them.

From big to small, from tall to short, from young to old they are the same but different they are all apart of me they all live in my heart near or far they are always with me ....I hope they know that no matter what I will always be watching over them....
while you are looking forward, while you are gazing into your future, while you are seeing what is ahead  I stand behind you watching your six and cheering you on....

Taking the long road home

Even though our trip ended differently than planned, even though it was extended a week due to my pain med induced nap I just wasn't ready to just drive straight home like a boring old person pain aside this lady is still a gypsy looking to see new adventures be it on top of a chilly mountain top covered in a wintery breeze it's only July and winter is creeping in from the top down.... So close we are to Heaven on earth blessed to be able to share these days with these little blessings.

Then we loaded up the car and hit the road again.....back to hell we go

Shtf and we survived

Life lessons when you survive shtf and are able to laugh about it ...

So you survive 3 weeks camping alone no other adults just you, 4 kids and a dog.
Switching camping sites, lightening, thunder, pelting rain and blow you over wind Survived it all....

July 4th rolls around it is our last night of our camping trip tomorrow we are due to pack up and head out. The day was great we have a real American woohoo small town USA 4th of July parade, bbq a great day on the lake after getting back to our campsite a storm hit we decided to hang out in the car and wait out the bad weather. Being a do-er watching the storm tear apart our tent  I decided to get out and try to save it from the storm huge mistake!!
So I get out of the car walk towards the tent and boom one minute walking next thing I know I am laying on the ground wondering how I ended up there, rain is pelting me, lightening flashing through the sky, the ground beneath me vibrating from the booming thunder...As I lay there I can see the flickering flames from the neighboring campsite, I can hear the laughter of the people hiding from the storm in their tents I consider yelling out for help but I hesitate since I never ask for help...I lay there thinking I am going to die here in the mud, on the ground lightening is going to strike me wait how did I end up laying here on the ground broken? I don't know I never will know for sure.

I lay there fear rushing through my body panic rising what about the girls it's dark, storming, camping in the middle of no where, my husband across the ocean on deployment what will happen to my girls? No I can't lay here I have to get up what would Morgan Carter do? he would say get you can't lay here and die get your ass up and survive ....

My daughter comes running up "Mom why are you laying on the ground?"  My reply "I can't find my leg" another daughter runs up hearing me say I can't find my leg she turns and runs back to the car to get her medical bag my first thought she is going to amputate my leg since she wants to do surgery on people and she has seen The Walking Dead poor Hershal...No Belle stay in the car!!! God help me this kid doesn't chop my leg off!! My oldest helps by finding my leg for me first she unbends it at the knee then rotates it around popping, breaking, snapping so many different noises to accompanying each different pain I am too young to break my hip right?...some how she managed to get me up and into the car as I try to shift I realize something is wrong with it why is my wrist bent like that? switching arms I shift and manage to drive to the camp hosts house 911 911 I think I broke my leg maybe my arm as well...

Off to the hospital I go thanks to new found friends who are life savers taking me to the hospital, watching the girls for me so I had no worries that night... The diagnosis broken & I said that as soon as I could make it to the bathroom by myself I was going to go home so after a week on Grace's couch I was able to make it the bathroom myself, a shower to wash the caked mud off of me, wash my hair and started off on a new adventure getting my broken ass home..... I am pretty proud of myself and my girls we survived and thrived

On the road again

What better way to reconnect with your children then to whisk them away from electronics disconnect,  focus on each other, no distractions, no gadgets, no friends knocking on the door, no phone calls, no emails, no facebook, no tweets, no snapchats, no instagram, no tv just conversations, laughter, smiles, adventures, road trips, tent living, camp fires and smores...Oh did I mention camp fires and smores!!!

A 3 week off the grid camping trip just me, the littles and the dog....loaded up the car and off we go to the greatest state ever yes Montana. I highly recommend at least once in your life going on an epic road trip to this breath taking state camp your way across the land seek out all the huckleberry food you can find...you will be talking about this adventure until your last breath!!

I love being able to share new things with my girls this was our first camping trip with the twins being old enough to remember camping, this was our first camping trip since becoming an Army family, this is our first camping trip with a 4 legged family member and it was our first camping trip without the husband yes the poor guy is still deployed and missing out on all this excitement...
Another first paddle boards the girls loved them and now I need to buy some....

I love how excited they get about simple things like a beautiful lake with ripples from the breeze

I  love how they think outside of the box lets Paddle board out to the middle of the lake and use the paddle boards as a diving board...Don't be afraid to take the plunge remember being a kid? even though you were a little scared you still jumped so change your mindset set aside all the adult reasonings and excuses just go for it!! try something new paddle board, kayak, scuba diving,  skydiving whatever ....

Lastly stop put your feet up, breath in and breath out, look at the beauty, listen to the silence, the wind, the rain, the sound of childrens laughter, feel the breeze, the grass under your feet, warm stones and sand drying on your skin after taking a dip in the lake... take a photo and then go do it all again...

Be a gypsy

I truly believe that one of the greatest qualities you can instill in a child is an adventurous spirit. Unsure of this just take your child some where new and interesting then step aside and watch their faces the awe, the wonder, the amazement, the excitement, the interest, the questions they are about to ask all these expressions crossing their faces... I hope when my daughters are grown that they look back fondly on their time with me I hope they too share adventures with their children and sit around talking about the adventures they shared with their crazy Nana lol.....

Throw the camping gear, girls and dog into the Jeep and hit the road on another Adventure Oh boy what an adventure it will be.....

Oh Grandmother what Big eyes you have 2016

What does Little Red Riding Hood do with Grandmother you may wonder why you take her out to the woods and let her run wild with the wolf pack....Everyone should have a mother in law like mine this woman is a super star she is always up to new adventures...

Owoooooooo!
Who's that I see walkin' in these woods?
Why, it's Little Red Riding Hood!
Hey there Little Red Riding Hood, You sure are looking good. You're everything a big bad wolf could want.
Listen to me.
Little Red Riding Hood
I don't think little big girls should
Go walking in these spooky old woods alone.
Owoooooooo!
What big eyes you have, the kind of eyes that drive wolves mad.
So just to see that you don't get chased
I think I ought to walk with you for a ways.
What full lips you have, they're sure to lure someone bad.
So until you get to grandma's place
I think you ought to walk with me and be safe.
I'm gonna keep my sheep suit onUntil I'm sure that you've been shownThat I can be trusted walking with you alone.Owoooooooo!
Little Red Riding Hood
I'd like to hold you if I could
But you might think I'm a big bad wolf so I won't.
Owoooooooo!
What a big heart I have-the better to love you with.
Little Red Riding Hood,
Even bad wolves can be good.
I'll try to be satisfied just to walk close by your side.
Maybe you'll see things my way before we get to grandma's place.
Little Red Riding Hood
You sure are looking good.
You're everything that a big bad wolf could want.
Owoooooooo!
I mean baaaaaa!

Oh let's be explorers oh the adventures we will have 2016

Let's be explorers, travel the world, sail the seas, swim in lakes, climb mountains, dip our toes in sand  and splash in Ocean waves, float down rivers, explore the valleys and hike the trails..I was thinking recently about the state I spent the majority of my growing up years it's the place my parents still reside I don't call it home because home is where your heart is. Back to my point I was thinking about this place and all of the local sites to be explored there and the sad fact that I have never been to them either as a child or as an adult...I think about how people go away on vacations to play tourist but have never seen the local sites so to give my girls what I missed out on or didn't take advantage of while living somewhere ...So my advice to everyone go play tourist in your backyard, check out your neighborhood, town/city, museums, zoos, animal parks, forts/historical sites, opera, planetarium, aquarium, water parks, amusement parks, race track, horse races, miniature golf, National Parks, Forrest, lakes, hiking, camping  ..go see, do, learn, explore and make memories...
